Raw Yoga is evidence based movement, breath and mindfulness practices grounded in ancient wisdom.

These practices help to support nervous system health, aid in long lasting neuroplastic changes and cultivate holistic wellbeing.

Our Studio Classes

  • Raw Vinyasa

In this class you can expect something similar to a slow yet strong vinyasa practice. The sequences are based around Sun Salutations, standing poses, opportunities for learning inversions (if you felt so inclined), seated poses and some back bends.

There will be a focus on finding your breath rhythm and moving with your own breath. There will be the option to explore different types of pranayama. There is more time spent on the wrists in this class, yet there are always options to modify.

  • Align

In this class you can expect more attention on specific poses and/or targeting different muscle groups to explore your practice deeper.

We move slowly, yet don't let this fool you.

The practice is strong and designed to support those who want to work on flexibility, strength and greater overall body awareness. Whether you already have a strong established practice, or are working with injuries and recovery , this could be the class for you.

The class also looks into some of the inverted poses and bigger backbends. We take a more supported approach to these inversions and backbends and offer variations to suit all levels.

We use more props in this class including the wall, blocks, blankets, bolsters and yoga chairs. You may like to consider them as props of intelligence, a way to extend postures that may not be available in a flow class.

  • Hatha Flow

A strong, grounded practice. Expect some flow, time spent in postures and an opporunity to strengthen, stretch, align and unwind the body and mind.

  • Subtle Flow

Therapeutic yoga for overall maintenance and balance, stress reduction and common ailments of a modern lifestyle. This style of practice gradually allows you to unwind, connect to your breath and cultivate sense of steadiness of body and mind.

You can expect a slow and subtle practice, ranging from the floor to standing postures. We use repetitive movements, with the option of connection to your breath to create rhythm and flow in the body and nervous system.

A great class for those who are wanting a more mindful slow stretch practice, or are recovering from injuries or ailments that make a more dynamic practice not as appropriate.

Some time is spent on the wrists in this class, but supportive options can be offered.

  • Yin

This class involves long, grounded holds in postures with options to suit anatomical variation and personal preference. You can expect to use a variety of props for this class to really find comfort and ease in the practice. This class is slow and grounded. Moving through several mainly seated or reclined postures, holding them for several minutes. There will be a focus on breath and pulling back from your edge as well as enjoying a kind challenge when it comes to stretching your body.

Often we may also offer the use of the wall and the chairs to support this Yin approach to yoga āsana.

  • Yin Restore

In this class you can expect a fusion of Yin postures with a more restorative intention. Long, grounded holds in postures with options to suit anatomical variation and personal preference. You can expect to use a variety of props for this class to really find comfort and ease in the practice. This class is designed to down regulate the nervous system and allow for deeper rest and peace.

There will be a focus of breath awareness in this class and using the breath to stay present and aware while in the postures. Minimal time spent on the wrists in this class.

Subtle Flow / April 23

“The perfect way to end your day.. in a warm relaxed space, and slow stretching and movement to ease all the stress and aches. I loved the challenge of the left brain/right brain movement. I am the least coordinated person so it was a fun challenge. Love how every class is different and the thought and energy put into making it relaxed and fun at the same time.”
